From those wonderful Happy Snappy Crocs that first caught my eye to the very recent June release, the amazing designs and punny sentiments have  made me smile, squeal and say "awww" and "wow" on a regular basis. I have loved every minute of being on the Design Team of such an amazing company and fantastic group of crafty people. I know that many of you have felt the joy of creating with the Heffy doodle products too and it's so wonderful to be able to celebrate HDS's first Birthday together!
Here is the line up (And it's AMAZING!!!):

So for today's card I wanted to create a special 1st Birthday card - using the new Oceans of Love and Shellabrate Stamp sets and Dies. I did a card a little while ago using velllum coloured with alcohol inks and wanted to take this a little further with a vellum pop-up box!

To colour the vellum, I scribbled both copic markers and dripped alcohol inks onto my glass media mat. I dropped Blending solution onto this and placed my A4 vellum sheet on top. When picking up the vellum, I used a sideways swiping motion to give a water-like effect.

I did this 3-4 times, drying with a heat gun in between until it looked like this....

I then used the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Pop-up Box Card Die to cut a box card and cut some waves with left-over vellum and the Lawn Fawn Stitched Wave borders Dies. I used a vellum adhesive (Plus Glue Tape roller)to construct the box-card.

I then stamped out most of the images from the Oceans Of Love Stamp Set & Shellabrate from Heffy Doodle and the diver and submarine from the Lawn Fawn You are Sublime set. I coloured them with copics and die-cut them with the corresponding dies.

I cut a large number 1 and coloured it with distress inks, clear embossing it 3 x to give dimension. I also did 1 layer of Judikins Irridescent Sparkle Embossing Powder. I made some "sand" with kraft card and die cut with MFT Stitched Basic Edges dies.
I adhered the waves, sand and all the images onto the box-card, tucking some of them behind the vellum waves. I stamped the sentiment from the Shellabrate set in versamark ink, white embossed it, cut it out and adhered it to the card with the number 1.
Hope you enjoyed this and that inspires you to colour some vellum for your ocean-themed cards!
Thanks for joining us on the hop for Heffy Doodle's first Birthday!
Ali xx

This is incredible! I now desperately want that box in shirt or dress form. You almost don't need the critters, except, let's face it, you absolutely need the critters. Thanks for sharing this fabulous idea with us. I would never have thought to use vellum like this, but it's clearly something I'm going to have to try!
