Project for today's hop uses the wonderful interactive die in this release - the Slider Pop Up Die, as well as the cute little houses from Home Sweet Home stamp and die set to create an adorable little scene - and surprise! - it has a light up element too!!

To begin my card, I cut the slider pieces required using the die. The picture below shows the two pieces you will need to cut and the creasing for the front panel. The piece on the right you will need to trim with your scalpel to 'join up' the two cut lines at the top. In the picture below, my scalpel points to where you need to cut to make the perfect sized piece for the back - it will form the 'tab' that you pull up and down.
I then used some Distress Oxide Inks and my Cloudy Skies Stencil to ink the pull tab piece and the front panel. I used my Slopey Joes Dies to cut some green carstock and then used the front panel slider die to cut the green carstock again so that it could be adhered to the front of the card along the bottom as shown below.
I stamped and coloured the images with Copics (I modified one of the houses with a different from from another house to give it a different look). I attached the back slider piece by adhering only along the smallest fold section above and flipped it over to attach my lights - I used the wonderful and super convenient Ez-Lights from Pear Blossom Press (available in the Heddy Doodle Store). I adhered them to the top back of the back slider panel as shown below. I sat them behind the part of the pull tab that you will grip to pull so that as you grip and pull the light button is pressed at the same time.
I then pierced a small hole in the back slider piece so that I could thread the lights through.
They will come through behind where I would attach the houses later. The excess wire. I curled into a loose circle and adhered only in one place with some double sided tape (with the backing tape left on it so it was only sticky on one side to hold the wires down).

I carefully cut 3 windows from the houses I had stamped and coloured and stuck a small piece of vellum behind them, using a copic liner to mirror the window markings. I positioned the houses on the front panel (without adhering them) where I thought they would look best and lightly marked a 'dot' behind the windows with vellum.
I put the houses aside and pierced small holes in the front piece where I had marked and threaded the lights through adhering with a small piece of double sided tape so just the tips of the lights were at the front. I adhered the houses (lining the windows up with the lights behind them), and other images (the road I only adhered at each side with a small piece of 3D foam so that the slider piece could slide down fully flat behind it). I cut the clouds with the Swirly Cloud Die and adhered as shown.

I carefully adhered the panel to the front of a white cardbase - only around the bottom and side edges as you need to allow the slider panel to move freely up and down. If your light pack catches when sliding the scene down, adhere a long, narrow piece of card over the back of it so that it glides smoothly up and down.

Lastly I stamped a sentiment from the Pebble Sentiments Stamps and die cut some white and coloured cardstock and adhered to the front as shown.

Hope you enjoyed my project and that it inspires you to try an interactive card to two! Here's the full hop listing to enjoy! Ali xx
